About me

Hello!

anthony roebuck

My name is Anthony Roebuck, and I’m the creator behind “help me compost”!

I’m a long-seasoned composter with a passion for reducing our impact on the environment. I spend my days writing no-fuss advice for home gardeners on this blog and learning everything I can about composting, waste reduction, recycling, and natural soil fertility.

My Mission

At “help me compost,” my mission is simple: I want to empower home gardeners with the knowledge and tools they need to make a positive impact on our planet 🙂 On this site you’ll find practical tips, step-by-step guides, no-fuss advice, and a shared passion for composting, waste reduction, and natural soil fertility. I hope this inspires a collective effort to reduce waste, nurture our gardens, and cultivate a greener, more sustainable future.

My Story

I first discovered the workings of composting and soil fertility in our family garden. Today I teach about the undeniable benefits of compost and aim to encourage others to reduce waste and pollute less.

My obsession with compost probably began when I was young, thanks to my dad… He was always a keen gardener and could cite the Latin names of all the plants in the garden!

I guess some of that enthusiasm rubbed off 🙂

Passion and Expertise

Over the years, I’ve experimented with a multitude of composting methods, which I explain in this blog. I have also successfully completed Charles Dowding’s Fertility, Compost, and Soil Course (Which I highly recommend, by the way) with flying colors! I have a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in architecture from Oxford Polytechnic. And I’m an international member of the American Horticultural Society (AHS).
